Each pack contains a complementary selection of hardy aquatic plants that thrive in UK gardens and are suitable for new or established ponds. To help your pond get off to the best start, every collection also includes free floating plants, with larger packs receiving additional extras.

    • These are marginal pond plants and are best planted on pond shelves or around the pond edge.

    • Position each plant at its recommended planting depth.
    • Plant taller varieties towards the back and lower-growing plants towards the front.
    • Leave enough space for plants to mature naturally.
    • Water well if planting into boggy soil.
    • Floating Water Lettuce should simply be placed on the water surface.
    • The oxygenating bunch can be weighted and placed beneath the water surface or planted where appropriate.
    • Remove any damaged foliage after planting and allow plants time to establish.
  • Lobelia cardinalis (Cardinal Flower)

    Height: 60–90cm

    Produces stunning scarlet-red flower spikes from late summer into autumn, adding vibrant colour when many other pond plants have finished flowering. A favourite with bees and butterflies.

    Planting depth: Moist soil to 5cm (2") of water.

    Yellow Flag Iris (Iris pseudacorus)

    Height: 90–150cm

    A classic native marginal plant with striking yellow flowers in late spring and bold upright foliage. Excellent for wildlife and adding height to the pond edge.

    Planting depth: 0–20cm (0–8") of water.

    Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia)

    Height: 5–10cm

    Spread: Up to 60cm

    A low-growing trailing plant that softens pond edges with bright green foliage and cheerful yellow flowers throughout summer.

    Planting depth: Moist soil to 5cm (2") of water.

    Arum Lily (Zantedeschia)

    Height: 60–90cm

    Elegant white blooms and lush foliage create a striking focal point beside ponds and water features.

    Planting depth: Moist soil to approximately 10cm (4") of water.

    Phalaris arundinacea 'Picta'

    Height: 60–100cm

    An attractive variegated grass with cream and green striped foliage that provides texture, movement and year-round interest.

    Planting depth: Moist soil to 10cm (4") of water.

    Water Mint (Mentha aquatica)

    Height: 30–60cm

    A fragrant native aquatic plant producing clusters of lilac flowers throughout summer. An excellent nectar source for bees and other pollinating insects.
