Pond Plants

Creating a thriving pond starts with the right plants. Whether you’re building a wildlife pond, adding oxygenation, or simply improving the look of your water feature, pond plants play a vital role in keeping everything balanced and healthy.

At In & Out Aquatics, we offer a carefully selected range of pond plants suitable for beginners and experienced pond keepers alike.

Types of Pond Plants

Pond plants help keep your water clear, reduce algae, and create a natural, balanced environment. Using a mix of plant types ensures your pond stays healthy and looks great.

Deep Water Plants

Grow at the bottom of the pond with leaves floating on the surface, providing shade, flowers, and helping to reduce algae.

Oxygenating plants

Grow mainly underwater, releasing oxygen and absorbing excess nutrients to keep the water clear and healthy.

Marginal plants

Grow in shallow water around the edges, adding height, colour, and creating a natural transition around the pond.

Floating plants

Sit freely on the surface, providing quick shade and helping to reduce algae while being very easy to grow.

Our pond plant packs make it easy to get the right mix for a healthy, balanced pond.

Planting Guide

Planting pond plants is mainly about depth. Marginals prefer 0–15 cm, oxygenators 20–80 cm, and deep water plants like lilies 30–100 cm, while floating plants sit on the surface. Getting the depth right helps plants establish and keeps your pond balanced.
